Community
At ASAT, we’re more than an association. We’re a community of individuals with roots in Africa welcoming non Africans. We are excited to share who we are, get to know you and keep you updated via our newsletter.
Integration
Learning about different cultures and how to integrate into the Dutch culture are two of our priorities. At ASAT, we’re excited to introduce our committees which will make integrating into both the Dutch culture and Tilburg University culture as easy as possible.
Diversity
Many of our members have dual citizenship or multiple nationalities. It is important for us to understand one another in order to respect our cultural differences.

Our Committees
Professional Committee
The Professional Committee focuses on integrating our members into our host society, especially since it maybe different than our own. The focus is on preparing our members to integrate into the job market by:
Hosting skill workshops;
Providing academic and professional development opportunities;
Optimizing CVs, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles;
Assisting with registration, immigration, and legal matters;
Learning the Dutch language.
Social Committee
The Social Committee focuses on connecting fellow Africans with one another, promoting an understanding of our African traditions, and sharing our cultures with our non-African friends by:
Hosting social events and activities;
Organizing recreational trips and experiences;
Sharing African food, art, music, literature, and other cultural experiences;
Connecting with the wider African community in the Netherlands through events with other African associations.
